Grant Application Readiness
Use the Application as a Test of Product Clarity
A grant application should show not only that the idea matters, but that the proposed support can move the product toward a specific and credible milestone.
Need
Can reviewers understand the problem in one clear statement?
Solution
Is the product’s role and differentiation easy to explain?
Evidence
What learning supports the opportunity today?
Outcome
What will the grant enable the team to prove or complete?
1–2: What Problem and for Whom?
Define the user, care setting or use environment, pain point, and consequence of leaving the problem unsolved. Broad market statements are less persuasive than a precise account of the unmet need.
3–5: Why This Product, Why Now, and What Evidence?
Explain the mechanism or experience at a level appropriate for the stage. Identify existing alternatives and your meaningful differentiation. Support the opportunity with customer discovery, technical work, early testing, clinical insight, or other relevant evidence.
6–7: What Is the Next Milestone and Why Is Your Team Ready?
State what the support will produce and what decision that outcome unlocks. Show that the team understands its gaps and can engage the technical, clinical, regulatory, manufacturing, or commercial expertise required.
